Very valid points; “Reword” and “Delivering Happiness” are both fantastic and I think they are really going to help people. And, obviously, I love “Crush It!” and think it will positively impact everyone who reads it. However, this article was mainly about productivity apps for the iPhone.

That being said, diving into any of those 3 books during your commute would do you well.

I ride the L in Chicago for 20-30 minutes each way each day and have been keeping myself occupied checking Twitter with Tweetie 2 and Tumblr with their app. The only problem with network-centric apps is that coverage isn't always stellar which can make loading images and links a drag.

My new activity I started this week is reading a book (Designing the Obvious). You mentioned Mashable being a must for someone in your industry. I would think Jason Fried's Rework, Tony Hsieh's Delivering Happiness, and Gary's Crush It would also be essentials.
